PURPOSE:
The primary objective of this retreat is for young Christian men and women to be strengthened, educated, and edified in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. By retreating to this setting, the attendees are given the opportunity to renew their zeal and dedication by engaging in meaningful Christian activities. In turn, this provides an excellent avenue for Christians to establish new relationships and renew old friendships with other Christians. The retreat is for those in grades 6th-12th.
SETTING:
The Gulf Coast Christian Youth Camp is located near Colombus, TX. Colombus is off of I-10 between San Antonio and Houston. It is about 125 miles east of San Antonio and about 75 miles west of Houston. It includes cabins for both boys and girls, a mess hall, a basketball court, and an open field for sports or other activities.
COST:
The cost of the retreat is $30. Please send a check or bring your payment to the retreat. This includes two nights of lodging, three meals Saturday and Sunday breakfast. You are responsible for your own dinner Friday such as fast food or a sack dinner.
WHAT TO BRING:
Attire for worship Sunday, towels, washcloths, personal hygiene articles, sheets, blankets and/or sleeping bag, pillow, Bible and notebook, casual, weather-appropriate clothing (maintain Christian modesty) and walking shoes.
NO FIREARMS, FIREWORKS, ALCOHOL OR OTHER DRUGS ARE ALLOWED.
In our quest to promote a spiritually focused environment with Christians that profess godliness, we ask that each person “adorn themselves in modest apparel” (1 Timothy 2:9). Please help us maintain spiritual purity and eliminate any potential problems. Thank you for your good heart and spiritual attitude concerning this matter.
